Manage network & telecommunications operations for Parkland College, supporting 900 staff & faculty, and 13,000 students.  Manage all corporate systems including the faculty, staff & student email systems, plus various other web, file, and departmental servers.  Responsible for DS3 Internet connection, Cisco PIX Firewall, & DNS services.  Parkland’s network consists of 2,000 nodes, utilizing a Cisco backbone.

Provided pre-sales technical support to national Sales team by developing and delivering technical presentations to engineers and managers from banking, health care, ISP, ASP, and manufacturing to explain security products and services.  Work with customers to conduct installations, architecture design, and secure lockdown of systems.

Integrated Argus products into customer’s existing Internet security systems. Responsibilities included preparing for secure lock-down of customer systems and developing a configuration document to detail the configuration and operational guidelines of the installation.

1999 – 2000:  In 1999, ARA acquired ERES.  I was assigned the responsibility of managing and upgrading the WAN for the entire company, which includes 500 people in over 20 locations.  I developed a framework for the overhaul of the corporate network, including a Virtual Private Network (VPN), upgrade of divisions to high-speed Internet Access, and upgrade of routers.

1997 – 1999:  Prior to acquisition, prime responsibilities were for the evaluation, installation and maintenance of computing and network resources and technical support for all users, both local and remote.  I developed short and long-term plans, corporate policies for computer/network usage, established data security scheme for the network and off-site data.  Other duties included development of corporate Intranet & Web sites, establishing network between multiple offices, plus managing the corporate Internet connection and Internet firewall for data security.

Served as lead engineer in the design and implementation of Novell & NT networks in LAN/WAN environments using leased line, frame relay & ISDN.  Developed classes & provided consulting services for companies that were installing/upgrading their networks.

Other responsibilities included specification and ordering of computers systems, networking hardware & software, telephone and voice mail systems. Also served as Principle Investigator - Fielded turnkey systems at Army sites throughout US and Germany.  Wrote proposals & contracts.  Assisted with software training classes.  Managed several simultaneous research & development projects totaling up to $1.5 Million.  Provided systems support for administrators throughout the Army and Air Force.
